Canacona: Govt has approved the construction of road from Bendurdem to-Polem, that will cut distance between Canacona and Margao by half an hour. The project is expected to be complete by 2029.The presentation over the proposed multi crore project that remained pending for long was held at Ravindra Bhavan, Chaudi, on Monday.Art and culture minister and local MLA Ramesh Tawadkar, who was present for the presentation, along with members of various panchayats, and senior officials of the PWD, said the construction of the project would kick-start shortly.Tawadkar said they have overcome the hurdles to clear the project. “The project will be completed in two-and-a-half year. The preliminary work will start from next month, by Sep the project will take off fully, ” he said.Two more rounds of discussions involving senior officials of the national highway authority is scheduled for Wednesday at Gulem and Barcem-Padi in respective panchayat halls, to offer an opportunity for the locals to clear their doubts if any.
