Dhanbad: The beheaded body of a woman was recovered from a forest under Baliapur police station limits of the district on Friday. A local youth spotted the body in the forest near Chatniya bridge near Dhangi Basti and informed the police.Police suspected the woman to be in her thirties but could not establish her identity till late evening as her severed head was still to be recovered. “The body was sent to Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College and Hospital for postmortem examination and an investigation is underway,” Satyajit Kumar, the officer in-charge of Baliapur police station, said.Police and locals suspected the deceased was not a local resident, and her body might have been dumped here by her assailants to cover their tracks.
