JAIPUR: Members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) were allegedly attacked while visiting a government school in Rajasthan on Friday, with party founder Abhijeet Dipke accusing BJP workers of assaulting the volunteers and questioning the role of Rajasthan Police. In posts on X, Dipke alleged that CJP volunteers, including Ashutosh Ranka, were beaten up during a visit to a government school in Kanwarpura, Rampura. He shared pictures purportedly showing a clash and a damaged car window.“What the F is happening in Rajasthan?????” Dipke wrote, alleging that “goons of BJP” were targeting CJP volunteers. He also questioned why police had allegedly allowed the incident to take place.Ranka, in a separate post, alleged that the people involved in the clash were not local villagers but men allegedly brought in by the BJP. He claimed that the government school had been operating from a buffalo shed and that the CJP team had gone there to inspect the facility. However, villagers disputed the CJP’s version of events and opposed the party’s visit to the school. One villager told news agency PTI that the community did not want the issue to be politicised and said Rs 12 lakh had already been sanctioned for the school’s construction.“We don’t want to politicise the issue. Rs 12 lakh has been approved for our school. Villagers are capable of building the school,” the villager said. The villager also alleged that residents opposed the CJP because of its views, claiming that the party had made objectionable remarks about Lord Ram and spoken about dividing the country. The confrontation took place as the CJP continues its campaign to visit government schools and highlight alleged deficiencies in their infrastructure and facilities.Dipke alleged that Rajasthan Police remained a “mute spectator” while CJP volunteers were attacked. He questioned why there was opposition to the team’s presence at a school when, according to the party, children were being taught in a buffalo shed. The CJP also alleged that its team had been attacked by “BJP goons” while conducting an audit of the government school in Kanwarpura, Rampura, and questioned whether inspecting schools had become a bigger issue than providing children with proper classrooms.Ranka separately alleged that BJP workers attacked the CJP team during the inspection. He claimed that the school had been functioning from a buffalo shed for years and alleged that attempts to raise the issue had met with opposition. The allegations from the CJP and the villagers could not be independently verified.
