Baramulla, August 9: Baramulla Police have attached immovable property valued at ₹69.82 lakh in connection with a 2008 militancy-related case registered under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Enemy Agents Ordinance, officials said on Sunday.
According to a police spokesperson, the attachment order was issued by the Special NIA Court in Sopore in connection with a case registered at Chandoosa Police Station.
The attached property comprises 12 kanal, one marla and 73 square feet of land belonging to accused Parvaiz Ahmad Famda, a resident of Kawhar Bala in Chandoosa. The property has been assessed at ₹69,82,550, and a valuation certificate has been obtained, police said.
In a related development, the court has also issued an arrest warrant against another accused, Abdul Rashid Bhat, a resident of Rajpora in Chandoosa, in connection with the same case.
Police said the action forms part of ongoing legal proceedings against individuals accused of involvement in unlawful activities and militancy-related cases. The department reiterated that such cases would be pursued in accordance with due process and applicable law.
Further investigation in the case is underway, officials said.
