Patna: Residents of Bankipur have started visiting the Jan Suraaj office with their CVs following party founder Prashant Kishor’s promise to provide 10,000 jobs in the constituency after becoming its MLA. Visitors are also raising civic issues, including poor roads, waterlogging, sanitation, traffic congestion and drainage problems, with party workers and functionaries. The party on Saturday claimed around 40-50 people, many of them youths, were visiting the office daily to enquire about employment opportunities and submit their resumes. Their complaints and suggestions are being recorded for being taken up with the concerned authorities.According to the Jan Suraaj press release, residents said employment opportunities were important, but resolving basic civic problems in the constituency was equally necessary. The party said the growing participation reflected residents’ interest in the development and future of Bankipur.Kishor had earlier held public thanksgiving programmes across the constituency after taking the oath and interacted with residents to hear their grievances. Following this, he met the DGP to discuss traffic problems in Patna and Bankipur, as well as issues related to drug abuse and alleged illegal extortion. The development comes after Kishor, during his Bankipur campaign, had pledged to facilitate private-sector jobs for 10,000 youths from the constituency.
