Bengaluru: A 29-year-old Bangladeshi man with an Indian passport, who flew in from Bahrain, was caught by immigration officials at Kempegowda International Airport Saturday midnight.The accused was identified as Amit Sarkar from Munshiganj district in Bangladesh. According to the complaint filed by immigration officer Manjunatha NB, Sarkar travelled on a Gulf Airlines flight and landed in KIA at midnight. Officials said he had multiple identity papers.

Amit had a fake Indian passport, fake copy of an Indian electoral ID card, a Bangladeshi passport and birth certificate. During interrogation, Amit confessed he was illegally residing in India by concealing his nationality and got the fake documents with a tout’s help. A case was registered against him under Foreigners Act, Passport Act and BNS Sections 336 (forgery) and 340 (forged document or electronic record and using it as genuine).
