Palanpur: The Banaskantha district administration has launched emergency health centres at all 14 of its taluka court complexes under the “Health with Justice” initiative, bringing immediate medical care to judges, lawyers, court staff and litigants. The initiative aims to ensure prompt treatment within court premises, especially in remote areas of the district.Implemented under directions of the Supreme Court and with the guidance of Gujarat High Court and state govt, the project was undertaken by the district judiciary under the leadership of principal district judge Amitkumar J Kanani, with support from district development officer M J Dave and the district health department.The first emergency health service centre was inaugurated at the Palanpur court complex on June 19. Similar facilities have since become operational in the remaining 13 taluka courts.Doctors and paramedics appointed by the health department will provide regular services at these centres. The facilities will offer immediate first aid and emergency medical assistance for a range of health conditions faced by judicial officers, court employees, lawyers and litigants.A special health camp was also organized on the inaugural day, during which more than 300 people underwent free screening for non-communicable diseases, including cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure.The initiative is expected to particularly benefit people travelling to courts from remote talukas such as Suigam, Bhabhar, Vav, Deodar and Tharad, allowing them to access medical care without leaving the court premises.
