Rajkot: A 20-year-old homeopathy student was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a truck on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad National Highway on Wednesday.The deceased, Nikhil Brahman, was a third-year student at Aarya Veer Homoeopathic Medical College near Gunda village.According to the complaint, Nikhil, a native of Kapurasi village in Lakhpat taluka of Kachchh, was riding his motorcycle from Rajkot to his college when the truck knocked him down on the overbridge opposite Tri Mandir. He suffered severe head and multiple bodily injuries.Passers-by alerted emergency services, and Nikhil was rushed to Rajkot Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Police said Nikhil’s father, Dashrath Brahman, serves as a constable with SRP Group-12 in Gandhinagar. His elder brother, Parth, is pursuing the third year of his MBBS course at PDU Medical College and Hospital in Rajkot.Nikhil lived in a rented flat in Rajkot with his mother, Kalavati, while pursuing his studies.Efforts are under way to identify the truck and its driver by examining CCTV footage and other evidence. The investigation is in progress, Kuvadva police station sources said.
