New Delhi: The Badarpur police station in the South-East district has been ranked the capital’s top-performing police station for the year by Delhi Police. Shahdara police station placed second, while Bara Hindu Rao police station in the North district ranked third. The awards will be presented during the Raising Day Parade on Feb 16. Badarpur’s top ranking was driven by the execution of Operations Aghaat-I, II and III, aimed at organised crime and curbing local offences. In recognition of the performance, nine officers from the district were granted out-of-turn promotions. Additionally, 29 personnel will receive Asadharan Karya Puraskar, and 18 were selected for Commissioner’s Commendation Roll.According to police, Shahdara’s second-place finish marks the first time a district remained in the top three for two consecutive years. The rankings were based on multiple performance parameters, including high rates of crime detection, effective case resolution and speedy disposal of investigations. Authorities also evaluated responsiveness to complainants, particularly in cases involving crimes against women, children and other vulnerable sections. Officials said the assessment aimed to encourage professional standards and improve service delivery across police stations in the capital. TNN
