Lucknow: Anticipating massive footfall for Deepotsav 2026, the UP tourism department on Monday unveiled an all-inclusive two-night, three-day tour package named ‘Deepotsav Ayodhya’ to offer travellers a seamless blend of heritage, spirituality and spectacle.Priced at Rs 16,999 per person on a twin-sharing basis, the package covers AC transportation, meals and hotel accommodation. It features guided visits to prime shrines—including Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Hanumangarhi, Kanak Bhawan, Dashrath Mahal and Nageshwar Nath Temple—alongside prime vantage points for the evening Saryu Aarti and illuminated ghats at Ram Ki Paidi.A major highlight this year is a first-of-its-kind 2,100-drone aerial light show scheduled for Nov 9, a day after Deepotsav, with an encore planned at Jamghat. UP tourism noted that itineraries can be customised to let tourists witness the drone shows alongside millions of earthen lamps lighting up the temple town.State tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh said the initiative aims to connect visitors with Ayodhya’s heritage while boosting the ‘Visit My State’ campaign. “Deepotsav 2026 is being prepared to offer a grand, unforgettable experience of Ayodhya, showcasing the magnificent illumination and rich cultural celebrations,” he said.Beyond traditional festivities, visitors will also access newly upgraded infrastructure. Ayodhya is rolling out several fresh attractions this season, including a floating restaurant on the Saryu, an amphitheatre, a dedicated food court, shaded viewing galleries, and selfie zones at Ram Ki Paidi, along with revamped precincts at Guptar Ghat, Saket Sadan, and Udel Lake.UPSTDC chairperson Amrit Abhijat noted that the initiative specifically targets domestic travellers from metropolitan hubs such as Delhi, Mumbai, and southern states. Bookings are open through the UPSTDC web portal and dedicated helpline.
