Prayagraj: Prayagraj emerged as one of the top-performing districts in the Class X examination results of UP Board.In terms of total successful candidates, Prayagraj secured the third position following Bhadohi and Agra. Out of 88,566 students, who appeared from the district, as many as 84,458 cleared the examination, registering an impressive pass percentage of 95.36%.Among the standout performers, Avika Sharma brought laurels to the district by securing the top position in Prayagraj with 97.17% marks.A student of a local intermediate college, Avika balanced her studies with household responsibilities due to modest family conditions. She dedicated four to five hours daily to her studies after school, a routine that eventually translated into success.Hailing from Bharadwaj Puram locality, Avika comes from a middle-class family. Her mother is a homemaker while her father runs a small gas shop. Despite financial constraints, she remained focused on her goals.Avika aspires to become an IAS officer, believing that administrative service offers a powerful platform to contribute to society.She credits the current environment for enabling girls to pursue education without fear, allowing them to attend schools and coaching institutes freely.However, the performance of Prayagraj was not that impressive in terms of the Class XII result, where the district, with an overall pass percentage of 74.29%, was at 71st place, just managing to outperform Shravasti, Jalaun, Pratapgarh and Deoria.
