Chikkamagaluru: Chikkamagaluru district police have taken into custody an autorickshaw driver in a hit-and-run case.According to police, Surendra of Balagadi hit Eshwar of Thilak Nagar with his e-autorickshaw when the latter was on a routine walk near KEB Office in Balagadi on Monday at 6.30am.Although the autorickshaw toppled on Eshwar, Surendra fled the scene without bothering about Eshwar’s condition, police said.However, another autorickshaw driver, Ibrahim, noticed Eshwar and shifted him to Koppa govt hospital and alerted his family members.As per the complaint by Eshwar’s wife, K Nagarathna, Eshwar explained the incident while being shifted to a hospital in Manipal after first-aid in Koppa.Koppa police have taken Surendra into custody and are investigating the case.
