GURGAON: In view of continued waterlogging and traffic congestion following heavy rainfall, authorities have issued a fresh advisory asking all corporate offices and private institutions in Gurgaon district to facilitate work from home (WFH) for employees on Saturday.

The advisory comes after 60mm of rainfall was recorded in Gurgaon between 8am and 5pm on Friday, raising concerns over further waterlogging and traffic disruptions at several locations. It has been issued in continuation of an earlier advisory dated August 6.Authorities said limiting vehicular movement would help ease traffic congestion and facilitate repair, restoration and drainage works being undertaken by civic agencies across the city.The latest advisory comes against the backdrop of the disruption witnessed in Gurgaon earlier this week, when torrential rain flooded several stretches, submerged underpasses and triggered hours-long traffic snarls. The situation had prompted the district administration to ask corporate offices and private institutions to allow employees to work from home, wherever feasible.Several key stretches and underpasses had witnessed severe waterlogging, forcing closures and traffic diversions. Civic agencies had deployed pumps, cleared drains and undertaken repair work at multiple locations as commuters faced prolonged delays.The recurring waterlogging and traffic disruption have continued to pose challenges for commuters, with authorities now seeking to reduce the movement of vehicles while restoration and drainage operations remain underway.Residents have also been advised to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the ongoing relief and restoration efforts.
