Bengaluru: The Election Commission is set to begin the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka from April, with the state included in the second group of 23 states and Union territories scheduled for the exercise.Bihar was the first state where the SIR was launched on June 24, 2025. Chennai: Tamil Nadu will introduce a co-ordinated single-window counselling system for PhD admissions across all state-run universities under the higher education department, state higher education minister Govi Chezhiaan told the assembly on Thursday.Under the system, universities will publish discipline-wise details of departments, research supervisors and available PhD vacancies, allowing applicants to choose their area of research, institution and supervisor.
