TNNGauribidanuru: A KSRTC bus caught fire near Melya village in Gauribidanuru taluk in Chikkaballapur district Saturday. The incident occurred around 4pm when the bus was heading towards Madipadugu village from Gauribidanuru.According to Siddalingesh, divisional controller, KSRTC, Chikkaballapur, 32 passengers were on board, and no one was injured. He said the driver noticed a spark in the engine starter and immediately alerted the passengers. Hyderabad: More than half of Telangana’s undergraduate degree seats under the DOST admission system remain vacant this year, even after multiple rounds of counselling.Officials attribute this vacancy mainly to colleges holding onto surplus and defunct seats rather than surrendering them.The latest DOST special drive phase, announced on Aug 14, allotted seats to 14,975 students, taking the total number of admissions this year to 1,84,375 against 3,73,149 seats on offer. Kendrapada: Paradip Port has emerged as the second-largest major port in India while retaining its first position on the east coast and in coastal shipping, handling 65.81 million metric tonnes (MMT) of coastal cargo during 2025-26.
