Ahmedabad: Auda on Friday approved a budget of Rs 3,101 crore for the year 2026-27, focusing on infrastructure projects such as roads, drainage, water, and stormwater drains. Auda will launch works in Sanand, SouthWest Ahmedabad Sports Arena, Karai, and Manipur-Godhavi, in preparation for the Commonwealth Games in 2030. Specifically, Rs 275 crore has been allocated for infrastructure in the Southwest Ahmedabad Sports Arena area, including Rs 180 crore for roads, Rs 30 crore for drains, Rs 20 crore for water supply projects, Rs 30 crore for stormwater drains, and Rs 15 crore for bridges. An allocation of Rs 20.5 crore has been made for infrastructure work in the Karai area. Additionally, Rs 10 crore has been allocated for the construction of a sports complex in Sanand. In 2025-26, Auda’s board okayed a budget of Rs 2,231.2 crore. So, the budget has increased by Rs 869.7 crore. Auda plans to generate revenue of Rs 1,300 crore from the sale of plots, with a plan to sell 50 plots in 2026-27. An estimated income of Rs 287.1 crore is expected from development permissions and impact fees. A loan of Rs 560 crore is expected from the Asian Development Bank. A govt grant of Rs 300 crore is expected for the six-lane project of the SP Ring Road. An income of Rs 91.3 crore is estimated in revenue, including Rs 55 crore from interest on Auda’s fixed deposits. Auda CEO D P Desai stated, “An allocation of Rs 600 crore has been made for new road projects and Rs 12 crore for repairing existing roads in growth centres like Kalol, Sanand, and Mahemdabad.” Desai added, “An allocation of Rs 350 crore has been made for of drainage networks and STPs, Rs 100 crore for the stormwater network in Kalol, among others.” The Auda CEO said that Rs 50 crore has been allocated for the Jal Jeevan Mission project. An allocation of Rs 100 crore has been made for water supply work in Sanand and Nidhrad. Ghuma bridge to be lifted out of limbo: Auda on Friday approved the drafting of TP Scheme No. 244 (Manipur-Palodia-Sheelaj), clearing the path for work on the Ghuma railway overbridge to resume. The state govt issued a notification on Feb 10, 2026, changing the zone of land connecting the Ghuma bridge. The agricultural zone was changed to a residential zone for the land connecting the railway overbridge.
