The Andhra University campus will host the All India Inter-University Best Physique (men) competition from March 2 to 4. Student-athletes from across the country will compete for the national title, said Prof. N. Vijay Mohan, Director of Physical Education at AU.
He said that 500 bodybuilders from over 120 universities nationwide will participate. A dedicated team of 200 coaches and technical officials will be on-site to ensure the competition meets international standards.
A total of 24 winners will be crowned across eight different weight categories, ranging from bantamweight to heavyweight.
For many of these young athletes, this competition is a stepping stone toward professional bodybuilding and international stages. The event is being organised as part of the university’s 100-year milestone, showcasing AU’s commitment to both academic and athletic excellence, he said.
“We are ready to welcome the best physiques in the country. This isn’t just a competition; it’s a celebration of discipline and hard work,” said Prof. Vijay Mohan.
