Ranchi: Delhi Public School, Ranchi celebrated its annual sports day on Thursday with great enthusiasm. Students from Nursery to class XII participated in a wide range of sporting and cultural events which were held throughout the day.Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren, who attended the event as the chief guest, said, “Champions are not those who never fail, but those who never stop learning. Sports teaches us how to begin, endure challenges and finish the race of life with determination.”

DPS principal Jaya Chauhan said that sports are an integral part of her school’s academic curriculum. “Participation nurtures teamwork, leadership, discipline and resilience, preparing students for life beyond classrooms,” she said.Sutlej House emerged as the overall Champion with 279 points, while Ravi House and Sutlej House won best march past awards in the secondary and primary wings respectively.In Class IV, Aniket Lakra and Avika Verma were declared best athlete boy and girl respectively. For Class V, Aadi Krishna Oraon secured the best athlete boy title, while Trisha Bhagat was adjudged best athlete girl.In the combined Class VI to VII category, Aditya Tigga and Priyanshu Kumar jointly won the best athlete boy award, while Priyanshi Raj was honoured as best athlete girl. For Class VIII, Alwin Sujesh Mint was named Best Athlete Boy and Alice Rose Tirkey Best Athlete Girl. In the senior category of Classes IX to XI, Ganesh Sah and Rudra Sah jointly received the best athlete boy award, while Pihu Singh was declared best athlete girl.
