Nagpur: In a sign of how education is changing in one of Maharashtra’s most remote regions, students at Zilla Parishad Primary School, Jinjgaon, in Gadchiroli’s Bhamragad taluka, are learning with smart vision goggles and smart tablets as part of govt’s push to modernise classrooms in rural schools.The initiative marks a striking change for Bhamragad, a region that spent decades battling Maoists. Today, children in the tribal belt are being introduced to digital learning tools that make classroom lessons more interactive and engaging.Images shared by the school show students using smart vision goggles during reading exercises, while others are learning alphabets and basic concepts on smart tablets. The technology has been introduced under the state’s drive to develop smart classrooms in zilla parishad schools, which cater largely to tribal children and first-generation learners.The digital push aims to bridge the technology gap between urban and remote schools by providing interactive learning aids alongside conventional teaching. Maharashtra has been expanding AI-enabled and digital learning initiatives across govt schools, while also training teachers to use technology in classrooms.
