Weather officials indicated that the rise in temperature was linked to clear skies and dry atmospheric conditions following the brief spell of unseasonal rain in late February. With dry weather likely to persist, temperatures may rise further in the coming days, and some areas of Vidarbha could soon see the mercury cross the 40°C mark. In Nagpur, the maximum temperature climbed to 37.6°C, which was 3.2°C above normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 14.6°C. The sharp rise in daytime temperatures made conditions particularly uncomfortable for residents, especially during the afternoon when the sun was at its peak.Other cities across Vidarbha also reported high temperatures. Chandrapur recorded 38.5°C, Washim 38.4°C, Bhandara 37.4°C, Yavatmal 37.6°C, Buldana 36.8°C, Gadchiroli 36.6°C, and Gondia 36.5°C, the lowest in the region.Meteorological data also showed relatively low humidity levels during afternoons in several cities, contributing to the dry heat conditions.
