Gurgaon: Election Commission has issued district and assembly helpline numbers and established help desks to assist voters with queries related to the special intensive revision (SIR) exercise. The door-to-door revision will begin across Haryana, including Gurgaon, on Monday.Haryana chief electoral officer A Srinivas said the toll-free voter helpline 1950 is operational daily from 7am to 9pm. Additional helplines have been set up at the district and constituency levels — 0124-2224047 (district), 0124-2672900 (Pataudi), 0124-2570029 (Badshahpur), 8700751185 (Gurgaon) and 9466142565 (Sohna).Srinivas reviewed constituency-wise deployment of booth level officers and supervisors, progress of the SIR campaign, coordination with political parties, and the appointment of booth level agents.District election officer Uttam Singh said meetings with recognised political parties were held on May 4 and May 22, with reports submitted to EC, and that further meetings would be conducted to ensure wider participation. Parties are being continuously approached for BLA appointments; those appointed between June 3 and June 8 have already been trained. Training of BLOs and supervisors has been completed, and enumeration and declaration forms distributed.Srinivas directed officials to intensify voter awareness activities and involve municipal councillors in outreach efforts. Through voter camps and awareness programmes, citizens are being encouraged to verify and register their names in the electoral rolls.Singh said voter mapping is underway across the district and proposals are being prepared for rationalisation of polling stations.Resident welfare associations, public representatives and social organisations are being involved to ensure the success of the campaign.Srinivas said the revision programme must be completed within the stipulated timeline, with extensive public outreach to ensure all eligible citizens are included in the voter list. “Ensuring transparency, accuracy and citizen participation in the electoral process is our primary responsibility,” he said.
