Sitting MP and veteran Indian National Congress leader Pradyut Bordoloi on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and state BJP president Dilip Saikia.

The move marks a significant political development in Assam, strengthening the BJP’s position in the state. Bordoloi’s induction is seen as part of the party’s broader strategy to consolidate its base and expand its footprint ahead of upcoming political contests.
