Guwahati: Several organisations in Assam will protest on Monday in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk‘s Parliament march.Axom Nagarik Sanmilan (ANS), headed by scholar Hiren Gohain and former DGP Harekrishna Deka, has announced a silent sit-in at Chachal from 11 am to 2 pm in support of Wangchuk and the “Sansad Chalo” march.Left organisations SFI, DYFI, CITU and AIDWA will also hold a solidarity meeting and march in Guwahati, citing the crisis in the education sector and its impact on students.The All Assam Students’ Union (Aasu ) held a statewide candlelight march on Sunday evening. In Guwahati, Aasu members protested at Chandmari Swahid Udyan in support of Wangchuk’s non-violent agitation.At a media interaction at Rajiv Bhawan, MLA Abdur Rahim and former MLA Satyabrata Kalita alleged that the education system deteriorated under the BJP-led govt.“In a democratic nation, morality is highly essential for ministers. However, despite multiple paper leaks in crucial fields like medical education, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has not yet felt the need to resign,” Rahim added.
