Rajkot: Arup Ghosh has taken charge as director of the CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI), Bhavnagar. A distinguished scientist, Ghosh is widely recognized for his pioneering work in seaweed research. According to a statement issued by the institute, his contributions span sustainable cultivation practices, extraction of bioactive compounds and their commercial applications in food, pharmaceuticals and environmental management, strengthening India’s position in marine biotechnology.
