Bengaluru: A local court Friday directed Criminal Investigation Department sleuths to get a detailed heart check-up done for arrested KR Pura MLA BA Basavaraja. Another accused in the rowdy murder case, advocate Ajit, has been sent to seven-day custody of CID police.The CID, probing the murder of 40-year-old rowdy-sheeter Biklu Shiva, arrested Basavaraja and Ajit Thursday evening after they landed at Kempegowda International Airport from Ahmedabad. The CID has already arrested 18 people in connection with the murder on July 15 last year.The two accused were produced separately before the court Friday afternoon. First, Ajit was produced and CID requested his custody, stating they needed to question him in detail.Basavaraja was produced later, and when CID again demanded his custody, his counsel said the BJP lawmaker had heart-related issues. However, special public prosecutor Ashok Nayak demanded custody, stating Basavaraja was one of the prime suspects in the case and should be questioned in detail. Finally, the court directed CID to shift the MLA to Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research for a detailed check-up. “After completing all tests, produce him before the court with reports,” the court observed.
