RANCHI: Around 50 BJP functionaries, including 21 MLAs, were detained on Monday while protesting outside Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s official residence, demanding his resignation over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations in Jharkhand.BJP state president Aditya Prakash Sahu, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal and Ranchi MLA C P Singh were among those who took part in the protest.The protesters raised slogans against the state government and accused it of failing to address the concerns of candidates who have been protesting over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations.The BJP leaders extended their support to the protesting aspirants, who have been staging a protest for the past 18 days. They demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities and sought the cancellation of the JSSC CGL 2024 examination.The protesters also raised slogans demanding the chief minister’s resignation and said the government should ensure a transparent and impartial investigation into the allegations.
