Poonch, Oct 5: The Indian Army provided desks to students of Government Higher Secondary School Arai in the remote Mandi area of Poonch district as part of its community outreach initiative.
Brigadier H.S. Dhillon, Commander Six Brigade, attended the programme along with social worker Muhammad Farid Malik, Army personnel, students, teachers and local residents.
Students presented cultural and educational performances during the event, while locals and school representatives highlighted infrastructure and other requirements of the institution.
The Army assured the gathering that the issues raised by the community would be looked into and efforts made to address them.
Students, teachers and residents appreciated the provision of desks, saying the initiative would help improve the learning environment at the school.
