Nagpur: A group of five miscreants stormed into a family restaurant and bar at Wanadongri in the MIDC area on Friday, and looted foreign liquor bottles and cash, total worth Rs60,000-65,000, while threatening the staff with a gun. The incident occurred between 10.40pm on March 13 and 2am on March 14. Complainant Dinesh Chaudhary (28), a driver and bar operator, reported that his son-in-law, Mangesh Patel, has been running the bar for the past nine months. The accused forcibly entered the premises, demanded Rs50,000 from Mangesh, abused him, and threatened to kill him while brandishing a firearm. As per the complainant, the goons disabled the CCTV system, snatched sealed foreign liquor bottles worth approximately Rs50,000 from the display counter, and grabbed Rs10,000-15,000 cash from the counter. The gang then fled in a white car after issuing threats. Key accused identified included Ajit Satpute (35 years) and Rakesh Patel from Sangam Road, Wanadongri, and three accomplices. Police from MIDC Nagpur registered the case under relevant sections, including 310(2), 311, 308(2), 351(3), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and other provisions. No arrests have been made yet but raids are underway to nab the accused.The dacoity raised concerns over safety at licensed establishments in the industrial belt.
