CHENNAI: Film producer Archana Kalpathi Aghoram has been appointed as a member of the reconstituted state-level committee of the Hindu religious and charitable endowments (HR&CE) department, tasked with appointing non-hereditary trustees to temples that generate an annual income of more than Rs 10 lakh.The seven-member committee has been constituted for a two-year term with effect from July 24, according to an order issued by HR&CE secretary J Kumarakurubaran.Thavathiru Sivagnana Balaya Swamikal of Boomapuram Adheenam has been appointed as chairman while retired district and sessions judge K Ramanathan will serve as deputy chairman.Archana is associated with AGS Entertainment, which produced C Joseph Vijay-starrer films GOAT and Bigil.Her appointment comes against the backdrop of Vijay naming producer K Venkata Narayanan, producer of his latest film Jana Nayagan, as a special representative of the Tamil Nadu government in Delhi.
