Pune: State govt and Tata Motors Foundation have developed an app, Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP) 2.0, that captures data at village-level across 95 different parameters to check eligibility of the residents for 35 govt schemes. This app will enable govt, NGOs and other social institutions to make data driven decisions and provide development plans of the villages based on the broader needs of the people. The app has been rolled out in 82 gram panchayats and will be expanded further to integrate more villages. The app was developed in April and so far it has been tested by 1.5 lakh people across the state.“The hope is that the gram panchayat level administrators will be able to make decisions independently using this data while formulating the development plans instead of relying on other stakeholders,” Vinod Kulkarni, CEO of Tata Motors Foundation, said.Surveyors will ask for data on education, health, marital status, employment, water availability to determine the parameters. The data collected will be stored in the Maha Krishi Samrudhi Yojana (MKSY). Currently, the data is being shared with the collectors, sarpanch and other local administrative bodies. The IVDP is aimed at rural development by improving access to health, education, strengthening local governance, enhancing livelihoods and promoting sustainable natural resource management. First introduced in the Palghar district, this model has been replicated in the Panchale and Kushire gram panchayats in the Pune district.Representatives of these villages said the initiatives have increased average household incomes, women participation in governance and access to water. In FY-26, Tata Motors Foundation signed an MoU with the state govt to launch IVDP 2.0, aimed at institutionalizing a scientific, participatory and govt-owned planning process.Currently being implemented in 82 gram panchayats, the programme focuses on strengthening gram panchayat-level governance, professionalising planning, enabling communities to lead their own development and work towards full utilisation of eligible government schemes.
