Srinagar, Sep 12: Apni Party leaders on Saturday visited protesting National Health Mission (NHM) workers in Batamaloo and expressed solidarity with their demands for better service conditions.

A party delegation led by Provincial President Mohammad Ashraf Mir met NHM employees observing a sit-in and hunger strike at a park near the PHC in Bonpora Batamaloo.

NHM employees across Jammu and Kashmir have been protesting for several days, seeking pay revision, job security and retirement benefits.

The delegation included Apni Party Women’s Wing President Dilshad Shaheen, spokesperson Ishrat Bhat, Provincial Youth President Kashmir Jibran Dar, Srinagar District President and Central Shalteng Constituency In-charge Zaffar Habib, among other party leaders.

During the visit, Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari spoke to the protesting employees over the phone and assured them of the party’s full support for their demands.

 

The party leaders expressed solidarity with the employees and said their long-pending concerns deserved due consideration.
