Mysuru: Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot Thursday appointed AP Gnana Prakash as the new vice-chancellor of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU).Prakash, a physics professor at the University of Mysore, will serve a three-year term or until he attains the age of 65.A former registrar (evaluation) at the University of Mysore, Gnana Prakash was a post-doctoral research fellow at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA, and at the Department of Physics, National Dong Hwa University, Hualien, Taiwan.He has also served the University of Mysore as director of outreach programmes and director of the Institute of Excellence.Gnana Prakash will succeed Sharanappa V Halse, who was serving on extension after completing his three-year term.
