Panaji: Goa police’s crime branch on Wednesday made Youtuber Gautam Khattar’s brother Madhav a co-accused in the case of derogatory remarks made by the former against St Francis Xavier. Police arrested Madhav in Haridwar for filming brother Gautam’s remarks at the Goa event and for broadcasting it on social media.The crime branch has issued a look out notice against Gautam and sent it to the Bureau of Immigration so that he cannot fly out of India, officers said.Police said investigations also showed that Madhav was the one who prepared the speech. He is being brought to Goa for further investigation, police said.“Crime branch teams are camping at prominent cities in the country based on available evidence to trace Gautam,” police said.The FIR filed at Vasco police station was transferred to crime branch on Tuesday. On taking over the investigation, the branch summoned the organisers of the event and it was learnt that Madhav had accompanied Gautam for the April 18 event.The organisers told police that Madhav recorded the video of the derogatory statements and broadcast it on social media. The organisers also said that it was Madhav with whom they were coordinating for logistics arrangements for Gautam’s presence at the event.Madhav had agreed to Gautam’s presence at the event on the condition of their flight tickets and accomodation being covered, and payment of Rs 51,000.“Based on the investigation, it has also been revealed that the speech was prepared and made by his brother Madhav, delivered by Gautam, and recorded by Madhav to be broadcast on social media platforms. Accordingly, he was made co-accused in this case for involvement in this crime. After keeping watch over the house of Gautam overnight, a Goa police team camping at Haridwar was able to locate and apprehend him,” police said.
