Vasco: Heavy rainfall triggered fresh landslide incidents in Dabolim on Wednesday, with large boulders rolling onto the road from a hillside at Merces Vaddem. No casualties were reported.Continuous rain over the past two days in Mormugao taluka, while bringing relief from heat, has led to landslides at Merces Vaddem and Nanak Nagar. Residents said several loose boulders on the cliff face have been exposed, raising concerns of further slides and prompting calls for urgent preventive measures as heavy rain is expected to continue.In a separate incident, a gulmohar tree fell at Hutatma Chowk opposite St Andrew’s Church in Vasco, briefly disrupting traffic. No vehicles were damaged. Fire and emergency personnel cleared the tree and restored movement.
