Bokaro: An angwandi worker in the district was removed from service after it emerged that she had taken money from the beneficiaries of Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana for carrying out their verification.The matter came to light on May 22 when a video surfaced on social media allegedly showing Kumari Seema, an anganwadi worker from Choufan North centre demanding money from beneficiaries during physical verification for the scheme. The clip quickly went viral, prompting public outrage and administrative scrutiny. Deputy commissioner Ajay Nath Jha set up a committee to probe the allegations.“After a detailed probe, the committee confirmed that monetary transactions had indeed taken place between the Anganwadi worker and beneficiaries during the verification process. Based on the findings, the removal of Kumari Seema from service with immediate effect was ordered,” he added.
