Vadodara: The annual turnover of the Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd (Amul Dairy) crossed Rs 15,114 crore in 2025-26, registering a 7.20% growth over the previous year, even as the dairy union reported average daily milk procurement of 48.35 lakh kg during the year.The figures were announced at the 80th annual general meeting of Amul Dairy and the 61st AGM of the Amul Research and Development Association (ARDA), held at Sardar Patel Sabhagruh in Anand on Saturday. The meeting was chaired by Amul Dairy’s chairman Sabhesinh Parmar.The union now has more than seven lakh milk producers associated with it, of whom over four lakh pour milk daily. The cooperative, which began with a share capital of just Rs 100, has grown into a business exceeding Rs 15,000 crore, the chairman informed.Milk producers were paid approximately Rs 1,035 per kg of fat during the year, while 98 families benefited from Amul’s insurance assistance scheme, receiving financial support totalling more than Rs 2 crore.He said, with the focus on improving livestock productivity and farmers’ income, Amul has been deploying technologies including sexed-sorted semen and embryo transfer. Its 13 veterinary centres provided doorstep treatment to more than 7.81 lakh animals. The union has also been supporting farmers through digital cow belts, calf-rearing programmes and TMR plants. Its semen station at Ode received an A-Grade certificate from the Govt of India for quality standards.The dairy union is simultaneously expanding its milk procurement operations beyond Gujarat, with operations being extended across West Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Assam and Tamil Nadu. The milk union has also expanded its business into the US and Spain and plans to enter additional international markets, Parmar said.
