T’puram: KPCC president Sunny Joseph met chief minister V D Satheesan at Kerala House in New Delhi on Tuesday amid issues raised within the UDF over decision making in the alliance. The meeting assumes significance as it came a day after UDF convener Adoor Prakash submitted a written complaint against Satheesan to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, alleging that key decisions were being taken without adequate consultation with the alliance leadership. After the meeting, Joseph said organisational matters were discussed and confirmed that the complaints raised by Prakash against Satheesan had also figured in the discussions. However, he declined to elaborate, saying the matter was now before the Congress high command.Prakash, meanwhile, has refused to withdraw either his allegations or the complaint. He has alleged that he was kept in the dark about several important decisions and had to learn about developments through media reports.Prakash questioned whether a UDF convener should have to depend on newspaper reports to know about decisions concerning govt and the alliance.Satheesan is also likely to meet Kharge in New Delhi on Wednesday, with the issue raised by Prakash expected to come up for discussion. Joseph had met the Congress president earlier. The party high command is reportedly unhappy that complaints over the chief minister’s style of functioning have surfaced within three months of the UDF govt taking office. The brass is learnt to be considering issuing a firm directive to improve coordination between the party, govt and UDF.
