Panaji: The Amdar Chashak cricket tournament for men and women will start from May 21 at Salvador do Mundo ground, Porvorim. The tournament will feature teams from across the constituency, bringing together young cricketing talent and sports enthusiasts on one platform.Over 70 teams are expected to participate with the final scheduled for Sunday.As part of grand launch celebrations, the trophy and jerseys were unveiled at Art Park in a ceremonial event, in the presence of tourism minister Rohan Khaunte, along with zilla panchayat member Sandip Salgaonkar, Amit Asnodkar, sarpanch Swapnil Chodankar, Sonia Pednekar, BJP Porvorim mandal president Vinit Parab and panch members.“Amdar Chashak is not just a tournament but a celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and youth talent,” said Khaunte. “The enthusiasm among players and cricket lovers clearly reflects the growing sporting spirit in Porvorim.The tournament is expected to draw a big crowd and create a vibrant sporting atmosphere.
