Ahmedabad: The network of community and urban health centres run by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) witnessed a steady rise in patient footfall, with 20.6 lakh patients availing treatment at OPDs across 90 centres in 2025, according to official data released on Wednesday.Of the total cases handled last year, around 1.35 lakh patients were treated for fever, while nearly 50,000 sought care for cold and cough.The figures reflect a gradual increase in patient visits over the years. OPDs at urban and community health centres recorded 19.56 lakh patients in 2024 and 20.86 lakh in 2023. The numbers stood at 17.38 lakh in 2022 and 13.67 lakh in 2021, a period impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Earlier, 14.49 lakh patients were treated in 2020 and 16.34 lakh in 2019.Meanwhile, SVP Hospital, a flagship facility built by the AMC at a cost of Rs 800 crore, recorded 14.53 lakh OPD visits over a seven-year period from 2019 to 2025.
