BJP state chief Manmohan Samal reviews preparations on Thursday

Bhubaneswar: Elaborate preparations are in place for President Droupadi Murmu’s two-day visit to her home district Mayurbhanj from Friday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to join her on Saturday.Rairangpur town has been turned into a fortress, with senior police and administrative officials camping in the area. Several ministers have also reached the town to oversee arrangements.Murmu will arrive in Odisha on Friday afternoon. She is scheduled to attend a health camp organised by AIIMS Bhubaneswar in Rairangpur and interact with beneficiaries and doctors. The president will also inaugurate a mega integrated rural piped water supply project for mining-affected villages in Kusumi block, along with the Matrushakti Bhavan of the Brahma Kumaris, a special circuit house and facilities related to the police district in Rairangpur.On Saturday, Murmu and Modi will visit Pahadpur, her in-laws’ village, where they will tour educational institutions run by the SLS Trust — set up in memory of her late husband and two sons — as well as a skill centre. Both leaders are scheduled to interact with beneficiaries and students. The president will also offer prayers at Gosani Peeth, Santhali Jahera and Ho Jahera.Later in the day, Murmu will join PM Modi at a public function in Rairangpur, marking two years of the BJP govt in Odisha. The two leaders will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for multiple development projects and address a public gathering.
