VC said the university should move beyond its traditional role as an affiliating institution and expand its focus on academic activities, research and innovation to meet future challenges.

Lucknow: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) celebrated its 26th Foundation Day on Sunday with cultural performances by students and a renewed commitment to strengthening research, innovation and academic excellence.

Addressing the gathering, vice-chancellor Prof JP Pandey reflected on the university’s 26-year journey, crediting teachers, officers and staff for transforming AKTU into one of the country’s largest affiliating technical universities. He said the university should move beyond its traditional role as an affiliating institution and expand its focus on academic activities, research and innovation to meet future challenges.

Prof Pandey said AKTU was revising its curriculum in line with emerging technologies and industry requirements, adding that research and innovation would define the university’s future identity.
