Kolkata: In the backdrop of Special Intensive Revision in West Bengal, Samajwadi Party leader and Member of Parliament Akhilesh Yadav will meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Baneerjee at state secretariat Nabanna on Tuesday afternoon.

Yadav, reaching Kolkata, said, “The BJP will not be successful in Bengal against Didi.”

Yadav and Banerjee’s meeting is especially significant, in the backdrop of the ongoing Bengal SIR and upcoming assembly polls in Bengal and SIR in Uttar Pradesh and future of INDIA alliance. Notably, SIR is underway in Uttar Pradesh, where names of around 2 crore people have been deleted while names of 58 lakh were deleted in Bengal.

Yadav and his wife Dimple Yadav have arrived in Kolkata. Akhilesh Yadav holds a close relationship with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Meanwhile, the West Bengal Chief Minister has reportedly drawn a plan, upping the ante to take the SIR movement to New Delhi. It is learnt that Banerjee may go to Delhi next week after Union Budget. Banerjee has already said that she is likely to take up the Bengal SIR issue to New Delhi. Bengal CM is likely to take the family members of people, who allegedly died due to Bengal SIR, along with her for the protest, people in the know said.

Earlier, Trinamool National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee visited New Delhi with a ten-member MP delegation and met Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.
