Noida: Akasa Air on Monday opened ticket bookings for Noida International Airport (NIA), announcing daily non-stop flights to Bengaluru and Navi Mumbai from June 16. It is the second carrier after IndiGo to release the route details from the airport.Flights to Bengaluru are priced from Rs 8,246, compared to Rs 7,000 for an IGI airport to Bengaluru ticket on the same day. The Navi Mumbai route is priced from Rs 6,109, against Rs 5,499 from Delhi.On the Bengaluru route, the inbound flight departs at 4.25 pm and lands at 7.15 pm, with the return flight departing at 7.55 pm and landing at 11 pm. On the Navi Mumbai route, the inbound flight departs at 7.25 am and arrives at NIA at 9.35 am. The return flight departs at 10.15 am and lands at Navu Mumbai at 12.30 pm.Bookings, officials said, can be done on Akasa’s website, app and through online travel agencies. The airline will also set up an MRO facility within the airport premises.IndiGo, which opened bookings last Thursday, remains the more extensive operator at launch, connecting 16 cities. The airline’s first commercial touchdown at NIA is scheduled for June 15 at 8.05 am with an IndiGo flight (6E 2278) arriving from Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport.Air India Express, the third carrier slated to operate from NIA, is yet to open bookings.Anand Srinivasan, co-founder and chief commercial officer, said NIA’s modern infrastructure, multimodal connectivity and long-term capacity potential would transform access to the NCR. “As India’s aviation market expands, capacity creation at the right infrastructure nodes will be key to sustaining growth,” he said.
