Ranchi: Members of Ajsu Party on Sunday burnt a symbolic effigy of the state govt at Albert Ekka Chowk, demanding a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).The party also sought the withdrawal of cases filed against students who had earlier protested demanding a CBI probe into the alleged examination scams. Led by district-level leaders, Ajsu members marched from Nirmal Mahto Chowk to Albert Ekka Chowk, where they protested.Ajsu spokesperson Parwaz Khan said similar demonstrations had been held in East Singhbhum, Dhanbad, Daltonganj, Sahibganj and Chatra. The Ranchi protest, scheduled for Sept 6, was postponed following the death of minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu.Khan said the party was obtaining permission from local administrations before holding protests after authorities accused students of violating norms during a planned effigy-burning programme on Aug 21. The party has also alleged that a female student was assaulted during the protest.
