Air India has extended the suspension of all its flights to and from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Qatar until 2359 hrs IST on March 2, 2026, citing the continuing situation in the Middle East.In a statement, an Air India spokesperson said the decision was taken after closely monitoring the evolving circumstances and assessing multiple parameters, including safety, security, airspace availability and operational feasibility.

Europe flights cancelled

In addition to the West Asia suspension, select flights to Europe scheduled for March 2 have also been cancelled, along with their return legs. The affected services include:AI117: Amritsar–BirminghamAI151 / AI152: Delhi–ZurichAI157 / AI158: Delhi–CopenhagenAI114: Birmingham–DelhiThe airline said other flights to North America and Europe will continue to operate as scheduled, but via alternative routings over available Middle East airspaces. These revised routings are expected to increase overall flying times.Air India also confirmed that flights to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Newark Liberty International Airport will operate with technical stops at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport.The spokesperson said the airline will continue to monitor developments and share further updates as necessary.Air India expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and said it is assisting affected passengers with alternative arrangements. Travellers with impacted bookings are being informed through their registered contact details.Meanwhile, IndiGo said it continues to take “measured and responsible decisions across select international sectors” in light of developments in Middle Eastern airspace. The airline said customers would be supported with rebooking flexibility or refunds if impacted.
