Jammu, September 28: The All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) has extended its support to Allied Healthcare students from GMC Jammu, Doda, Rajouri, Kathua and other participating institutions, who have raised concerns over an approximately 8-month delay in completion of their Batch 2022–23 degree and commencement of internship.
The students held a peaceful and democratic protest at Government Medical College, Jammu today seeking clarity and an early resolution of the pending issues.
Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan, President, AIMSA, said that students have completed their academic requirements, including classes and examinations, but are still awaiting completion of the degree process and commencement of their internship.
“Students are not asking for special treatment. They are asking for clarity, accountability and a timely resolution. Their careers should not remain on hold because of administrative delays.”
AIMSA stated that internship is an important component of Allied Healthcare students’ professional training and plays a crucial role in their transition into the healthcare workforce.
The association urged the concerned authorities to expedite the pending process, complete the degree formalities and ensure that the internship commences without any further delay.
AIMSA reiterated that it stands with the students in their peaceful and democratic representation of their legitimate academic concerns and called for an early resolution in the interest of the Batch 2022–23 students.
