Patna: A close associate of Phulwarisharif JD(U) MLA Shyam Rajak was shot at in his apartment under Shastri Nagar police station area in the state capital late Tuesday night. The aide, identified as Dilip Kumar (40), runs a construction material supply business. He was hit by a bullet in the stomach, and another grazed his hand.A two-minute CCTV footage shows two assailants calling him from behind while Dilip was climbing the stairs, they then opened fire at him. After a bullet hit Dilip in the stomach, he ran inside. The criminals then chased him and fired four more bullets.Dilip’s business partner Ravi Kumar alleged that the attack might be linked to a dispute over payments with a builder. Dilip’s office is located on Boring Road.After the incident, he was admitted to a city hospital in Patliputra locality, where his condition is out of danger.After receiving the information about the incident, MLA Shyam Rajak visited Dilip in the hospital.Police sources said there was a delay in financial transactions with some builders, over which a dispute had been continuing.City SP Diksha said an investigation is underway and CCTV footage from the apartment campus is being examined to identify the accused.
