Ahmedabad: After the horrific June 12, 2025, crash of Air India Flight 171, efforts to clear the debris and search for bodies at the crash site lasted for about a month and involved scores of teams.Arrangements were made for tea, snacks, bottled water, milk, and biscuits for the people involved in search and debris-clearing operations. Those involved in the operations included municipal employees, officials, and volunteers from charitable organizations. They were deployed at four locations, including the crash site. On Thursday, a proposal will be presented at the standing committee meeting to approve the expenses of Rs 16.7 lakh incurred for providing refreshments to those participating in the operations. The proposal submitted to the standing committee states that continuous relief, rescue, debris removal, and other operations were carried out by the AMC, Gujarat govt, and various charitable organizations at the crash site and related locations. All bills submitted by the agency supplying these items have been verified by the food safety officer. The bills have been certified.
