Ahmedabad: Gujarat University police on Wednesday registered an offence against a woman for allegedly using a fake identity and forged documents to obtain an Indian visa through the e-FRRO portal.According to the complaint filed by an immigration officer posted at the FRRO office in Navrangpura, the accused applied for a visa using a Portuguese passport along with a cancelled Indian passport bearing false details. During verification on Tuesday, officials found discrepancies in her documents.On questioning, the applicant revealed her real identity and said she had obtained the Indian passport using fabricated details with the help of two associates. Police said she knowingly used forged documents to apply for a visa. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to identify the role of other persons involved.
