Ahmedabad: Though alcohol is prohibited in Gujarat, three men not only held a liquor party, but did so on a public road, and also posted about it on social media. The clip swiftly gained traction online, drawing the attention of the police who tracked down the accused to Sardarnagar and arrested two of them on Wednesday. A hunt is on for the third.The video clip, posted on Instagram, showed “four plastic glasses containing liquor-like liquid” and “two soda bottles” placed on the ground near a road, said police. “The clip was captioned: ‘Liquor party in the open in Kubernagar’. It referred to ‘an open drinking session on the road’ during the code of conduct period,” police added.Officers traced the video’s location to a spot near Kotarpur. During the investigation, police identified the three men as residents of Shantinagar in Noblenagar area of Sardarnagar. Officials said two of the identified men were arrested, while efforts are under way to trace the third suspect. A case has been registered under prohibition law provisions, and efforts are going on to nab the third person.
